FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Soldiers from across the 18th Field Artillery Brigade competed in 3 days of competition, culminating with a board on March 21 to determine the brigade's Soldier and NCO of the Quarter. Congratulations to SFC Michael Brodie, of the 188th Brigade Support Battalion, who retired on February 22 after 24 years of service. SFC Brodie had served as the culinary management NCO for the 188th BSB prior to his retirement.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Soldiers from the 18th Field Artillery Brigade finished up Black History Month with a final event at the NCO Academy on February 21. Retired CSM Ricky Davis, formerly of the 3rd Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment (HIMARS), spoke to the audience about his experiences in the Army and his thoughts on Black History Month. At the end, the 3-27 FAR were recognized as having donated the most amount of blood during the month of all the units that participated in the blood drive. (Photos by Sgt. O.R.E. 18-01: C-130's Deploy HI-MARS

Yesterday, C-130's from Dyess Air Force Base and Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, practiced loading and off-loading a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System or HI-MARS. During this portion of Operational Readiness Exercise 18-01, Airmen and Soldier's worked side by side to load, fly, deploy the HI-MARS, launch a simulated rocket attack, redeploy, and fly out.
