2 March 2018 CSM Bryan M. Pfeifer, 56th Signal Battalion held a NCO Induction Ceremony at Fort Sam Houston, TX. The ceremony brought back the traditions of the NCO Corps where young NCOs recited the NCO Creed and The Charge of the Noncommissioned Officer after being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. CSM Pfeifer charged 14 NCOs with the duties of the Noncommissioned Officer and were therefore inducted as the newest members of the NCO Corps. These NCOs are a representation of the following First Sergeants; 1SG Yamica McRae, HHC, 106th Signal Brigade and 1SG Alma Marrero, USANEC, 56th Signal Bn and SFC Jacqueline Grotenhuis, HHD, 56th Signal Bn. CSM William Rinehart, U.S. Army South was the honorary guest speaker of the event. His message established the foundation of the NCO Corp and the qualities to lead in the Army. CSM Rinehart was honored to present the NCO Creed plaque to these outstanding NCOs. Congratulations to SGT Lopez, SGT Cooper, SGT Green, SGT Hernandez, SGT Najera, SGT Moore, SGT Mason, SGT Harja, SGT Mitchell, SSG Mathis, SGT Gilbert, SGT Gray, SGT Lubwama, and SGT Myers.

The tower was designed by San Antonio architect O'Neil Ford and was built as the theme structure of the 1968 World's Fair, HemisFair '68. HHD 56th Signal Battalion Soldiers challenged each other to 952 steps climb of the Tower.

Powell Jr. and his wife Lori celebrated 2018 by hosting a traditional commander’s New Year’s reception at the Stilwell House which was built in 1880s. The official receiving line also included CSM Bryan Pfeifer, the Adjutant, 2LT Courtney Clyde and the 106th Signal Brigade Command Team, COL Bradford Davis and CSM Maurice Greening. Officers and NCOs of the 56th Signal Battalion enjoyed the social.

LTC Dallas Powell and CSM Bryan Pfeifer visited USANEC-SOUTHCOM 7-9 November 2017. CH Thompson also provided the Soldiers and Civilians with Suicide Prevention Training as well as Servant Leadership Training. The Command Team conducted focus groups sessions and visited the SOUTHCOM GC3T Team. The Command Teams had various morale boosting events to include a company beach run and company bowling event. USANEC personnel are in high spirit and continues to provide Southern Command with the best customer service. Get The Message Through!
CH Glen Thompson and SPC Sabrina Mireles, 56th UMT hosted a Thanksgiving festivity for the Soldiers and Civilians. The 21st Signal Brigade UMT, CH Willie Newton also attended and was happy to see Team 56 interaction's with each other. CH Thompson provided inspiration, motivation and a fabulous meal. LTC Dallas Powell and CSM Bryan Pfeifer were honored to have lunch with the team and thanked for all their hard efforts and mission accomplishment.
