Colorado’s State Partnership Program with Slovenia, in its 25th year, allowed delegates to participate in a tour and observe collaborated efforts to handle natural disasters during the Alpine Guard Exercise this month.

From the Field:

D Company, 1-157th Infantry - Mountain, Colorado Army National Guard conducted mounted gunnery ranges April 8-15 at Fort Carson in preparation for their annual training at Fort Drum, New York. Gunners utilized mounted M240B and M2 .50 caliber machine guns and .50 caliber Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station to qualify. Teams are graded on engagements that include day, night and chemical enviornment scenarios. All of the units teams successfully qualified.

A homeless veteran will be interred with a full military funeral tomorrow at 10:00 AM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Grand Junction, CO. Community members are invited pay their last respects.

The Colorado Army National Guard hosted a departure ceremony for Army Space Support Team - 27, 217th Space Company of the 117th Space Battalion, at the North Colorado Springs Readiness Center April 14.

ARSST-27 will deploy to the Middle East to provide space-based products and support to units serving in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

Major General Mike Loh attended the governors wildfire briefing on Friday, April 13, 2018 with John W. Hickenlooper, Colorado Department of Public Safety, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control and others.

"On order of the Governor, we’ll be ready to assist our partners to save lives, prevent suffering, and mitigate great property damage in our state," said Loh.

Congratulations to winners of the Colorado National Guard Best Warrior Competition 2018. The Colorado junior enlisted Soldier and Airman of the year are: Spc. Lauren A. Pauzus and Senior Airman Brandon T. Broughman (respectively) and the Colorado Army and Air Force noncommissioned officer of the year are: Sgt. Robert J. Sheetz and Tech. Sgt. Daniel Guy (respectively).
