UPDATED TRAINING ADVISORY, April 12th
#FortGordon #Training update – the Installation Support Detachment will conduct training today in the cantonment area near the 1/3 mile track adjacent to the PX using blank 5.56mm ammunition. The training will take place from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
This training will occur in conjunction with another training event going on today near Bldg 81101 which will involve test firing a .50 Caliber Simulator and an Improvised Explosive Device Simulator – this training is scheduled through noon.
DO NOT BE ALARMED, both are pre-coordinated training events

The Installation MPD Passport/Visa Office will re-open for business on April 23 at 9 a.m.

LIVE FIRE TRAINING ADVISORY, April 11-15
Fort Gordon #LiveFire #Training is currently taking place now, April 11 and will continue through Sunday, April 15 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.
Local communities on the southwest portion of the #FortGordon training complex may hear live fire and detonations in the vicinity of the post. This is routine live fire training.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS AT FORT GORDON
Just a quick reminder to Servicemembers, civilian employees, contractors and family members–the Georgia Area 9 Special Olympics will be held at Fort Gordon on Wednesday, April 11th on Barton Field, near the intersection of 28th Street and Brainard Avenue. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the lighting of the torch and Detachment 1, 282nd Army Band playing the Special Olympics opening theme song. Approximately 900 Special Olympics athletes from 12 Georgia counties are expected to participant.
This year’s Masters of Ceremonies are Beasley Broadcasting News Director Mary Liz Nolan and WGAC Morning Show Producer Steve Smith. Mary Liz and Steve are also hosts on the WGAC Augusta morning radio talk show from 6 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday on WGAC, 95.1 FM/ 580 AM.
