Don't forget about the Operation Earth Friendly Youth Catfish Derby, Saturday, April 21, from 7 a.m.-noon at Catfish Cove Youth Fishing Pond for kids 15 and under. Fort Polk Tax Center open through Friday
Fort Polk's Tax Center remains open until Friday, April 20, for all late filers on a walk-in basis only. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday (April 18) and Friday (April 20) and 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday. For more information call (337) 531-1040.
Capt. Laterrious Starks and 1st Lt. Cory Smith (3rd Battalion, 353rd Regiment) participated in the Dallas Cowboys Military Combined Finals and they both placed in the top 5 of all 50 competitors. The overall purpose of the Military Combine was to twofold: provide Soldiers with an opportunity to experience a NFL Combine and to help assist service members who are transitioning back to civilian life and find meaningful working opportunities.

BJACH, garrison town hall meeting
Please consider attending a town hall meeting set for Tuesday, April 24, at the Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital dining facility at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is hosted by Col. Marla Ferguson, BJACH commander, and Col. Jarrett Thomas II, Fort Polk garrison commander. A color guard from the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (SGT Roland, SPC Idrizovic, PFC Cummings, PV2 McGraw, PVT Joseph) lead the Anacoco Spring Festival Parade today! BG and Mrs. Frank, COL and Mrs. Thomas and COL Rivera joined local leaders on floats to welcome in the spring season! The festival is open to the public until 2 p.m. across the street from the Anacoco Mercantile.
