“Do not despise humble beginnings.” The longest flight performed by the Wright Brothers was 59 seconds in 1903. The longest flight made by a C-130 was 36 hours in 1997. We have come a long way in the Air Force, and as Americans, thanks to the achievements made by those before us. #KnowYourMil

We appreciate the Airmen who get their hands dirty. The Airmen who spend hours in the rain and in the heat of the sun to get the job done. The ones who diagnose and fix. You are the reason our #AirCommandos stay ready today, relevant tomorrow and resilient always! Thank you for what you do.

April 9th honors the courageous men and women who have endured brutal treatment at the hands of their captors, separation from family and displayed incredible endurance and faith during their captivity.
On this day in 1942, the largest number of U.S. Forces were captured by Japanese troops in the Bataan Peninsula in the Philippines. After battling through extreme conditions and prolonged battles, the captured troops were forced to march 65 miles to the prison camp. Without medical attention, food or water, thousands died. The mistreatment continued for those who survived the brutal journey. In the compounds, deep in the unfamiliar jungle, the hardships, brutality, and suffering lasted more than two years for those who could survive. #FormerPOWRecognitionDay

Power, precision and badass Airmen and Soldiers, doing what they do to save our brothers and sisters in arms at a time when they need them the most. 🇺🇸️ 💛

The 83rd ERQS Story: Joint Personnel Recovery

They're here to save lives. Airmen flying missions every day or coalition forces going outside the wire on patrols, can fight a little harder and sleep a little better knowing there is a group of highly trained and motivated Pararescuemen willing to put their lives on the line to save them. For the first time in Afghanistan, these PJs of the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron do this working hand-in-hand with the U.S. Army CH-47 Chinooks. #VulturesLeadtheWay #DeliverAirpower #ForAFG #TilltheEndUnited States Air Force | U.S. Air Forces Central Command | Resolute Support Mission | US Forces Afghanistan | Gen.
