Why do we remember the Holocaust?

The #DaysofRemembrance allows #Airmen to mourn the loss of so many lives, celebrate those who saved them, honor those who survived and contemplate the obligations of those living.

Thanks to the Luke AFB Chapel for facilitating this year’s memorial and sponsoring The Hiding Room. All with base access are invited to stop by Thursday until 4:30pm and Friday 8am - 4:30pm to experience The Hiding Room for themselves!

UPDATE: Pilot released, flying operations resume

The pilot involved in the incident Tuesday morning was released from Havasu Regional Medical Center this afternoon.

Personnel from Luke Air Force Base are en route to the scene to begin recovery of the aircraft.

An interim safety investigation board has been established for the incident and will conduct a full investigation.

Flying operations at Luke Air Force Base resumed this afternoon after pausing for several hours.

This is the final update. Additional questions should be directed to Public Affairs.

F-16C emergency lands, pilot ejects

An F-16C assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing diverted and attempted to land at Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport, Lake Havasu City, Ariz. at approximately 10:35 a.m. today during a routine training flight.

During landing the aircraft departed the prepared surface and the pilot ejected from the aircraft. The pilot is in good condition and is being transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center.

First responders are on site and there is no immediate danger to the public.

More information will be provided as it becomes available. For questions, please call the Luke AFB Public Affairs Office at (623) 856-6011.

Our #Airmen are changing the Air Force from right here at the 56th Fighter Wing! The Airmen of the 56th Component Maintenance Squadron identified that a 10 day, 178 hour process to conduct routine maintainance on an #F35 needed to be sped up so they've spent the last 2 months doing just that. Read how they eliminated 120 hours from the process and aren't done yet!
