NAS Whiting Field held a commemorative service following morning colors at the headquarters building to honor the Nation's Vietnam veterans, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those that returned and those still missing from that conflict. Members of Team Whiting were in formation, and Executive Officer, Cmdr. Don Gaines spoke to highlight the contribution of the miltiary members who fought, died and served in the Vietnam War. During the Vietnam War's official duration, Aug 4,1964-Jan 27, 1973, there were nearly 600 U.S. POW's.
180323-N-LW682-001 through 006 Pensacola, Fla. Last week Training Squadron THREE (VT-3) held a change of command ceremony where CMDR Biggs was relieved by CMDR Harris at the National Naval Aviation Museum. The change of command marks a historic first at VT-3 as Command and Execution of the primary fixed wing training squadron onboard NAS Whiting Field was assumed by two South Field trained fleet helicopter pilots.
