Two weeks ago, the 440th Airlift Wing's final C-130 aircraft departed Pope for the last time.
Lt. Col. John Gorse said that, as aircraft 4404 left, it carried the collective work of the thousands of Citizen Airmen who had served in the historic unit.
"Even though we are flying with 8 aircrew members, today we carry with us thousands of Airmen," said Gorse. "Whether they're fixing it, whether they're doing our travel vouchers, whether they're the ones in the back loading the aircraft, all of those people are riding on our airplane today."

Thank you Debbie Otis for letting us help you plant seeds of patriotism!
We hope Millie Terry, Stars N' Stripes and Firecracker enjoy their new mission at Keesler Air Force Base as much as we enjoyed adventuring and sharing our stories with your second grade students over the past 3 years!
