Congratulations!! (Boy, we get to say that a lot around here!)

Team Tobyhanna's AN/TPS-75 Radar team celebrated their successful AS 9100 audit with a potluck lunch - fueling up to get after sustaining those quality results!

The AS 9100 is an aerospace standard based on the ISO 9001 quality system, and includes quality system requirements established by the aerospace industry in order to satisfy Defense Department, NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration. AS 9110 standards are based on AS 9100, and include requirements that are critical for the maintenance of military aircraft and specific to Tobyhanna’s avionics workload.

Well done to this hardworking, dedicated group!!

Team Tobyhanna is proud to announce certification under #AS9100 standards for 2018, following last week's audit!

Here are some of the glowing remarks auditors made about Team Tobyhanna during their inspection:

"Tobyhanna Army Depot has set the bar and raised my expectations for what to expect when auditing an Army Facility. I am thoroughly impressed the level of knowledge of your quality system from leadership through the employee at their workstation."

"A few of my neighbors are retired Army 7th Special Forces group. I will be sure to tell them that the equipment they used during their time in the Army is being maintained by an excellent team at TYAD."

"The level of pride, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Warfighter and the Mission of your Depot is apparent from the Leadership team all the way to the person on the shop floor. You have a good system (TYAD Quality Management System), good people who can clearly articulate what they do, and what a positive difference has been made since last year. I am impressed that you were able to transition from ISO to AS without disrupting the product."

"It was truly impressive to see the difference from five years ago and even one year ago. TYAD has a system (Quality Management System) in place that, at no time did I feel the quality of the product you put out is in question."

Congratulations is in order!

DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, has been named the DLA Distribution Michael E. Yost Distribution Center of the Year in the Medium Category for their outstanding support to the Warfighter for 2017!

LTC Jerome Barnard, Commander, DLA Distribution Tobyhanna and Mr. Robert Dodson, Deputy Commander, DLA Distribution Tobyhanna, recognized their team's extraordinary accomplishments and ongoing dedication with an employee breakfast on April 10.

The distribution center was instrumental in meeting the DLA Director's Specified Guidance confirming that Standard Operating Procedures were up-to-date, and that 100% of the employees tested were properly trained and observed during operational controls testing on the pick, pack, stow and FMS pack processes.

The Tobyhanna team also completed a Green Belt Project on the onboarding and new employee orientation process to prepare and equip employees for operational readiness, which in turn reduced the supervisor workload for new hires, and improved culture and morale. This led to benchmarking by other distribution centers and inclusion in the DLA Distribution headquarters IPT to improve onboarding efforts at all distribution centers.

DLA Distribution headquarters recognized the Tobyhanna Process Improvement Team as the Commander's Mission Impact Team of the Quarter in the fourth quarter for completing eight improvement events focused on reducing waste and increasing support to the customer. Specifically, the Project Manager warehouse improved packing processes that yielded a 350% percent increase in productivity and reducing reimbursable costs to the customer by almost 70%.
The ongoing efforts of DLA Distribution Tobyhanna led to their recognition as the top distribution center in the network in the medium category for 2017.

Once again, Congratulations from your friends on Team Tobyhanna! Your team's achievements reflect great credit upon your workforce and management, and illustrates clearly that Tobyhanna is the Warfighter's unmatched choice for maintaining #C4ISRReadiness!!
