From the STG Public Relations team:
Rail work impacts on base gates for the week of Apr. 23, 2018

“Work will be continuing at both Halawa Drive (Borchers Gate) and Radford Drive (Makalapa Gate) intersections during the overnight hours, impacting left turn movements and through traffic across Kamehameha Highway. Due to noise variance restrictions, and the need to perform sawcutting activities, these closures and detours will start as early as 6:00 p.m., and continue until 5:00 a.m. the next morning.

At Halawa Drive, drivers making the left turn exiting Borchers Gate onto Kamehameha Highway East will be detoured to a U-turn at Arizona Memorial Place. Drivers turning left entering into Borchers Gate from Kamehameha Highway East will be detoured to Radford Drive, Center Drive then onto Kamehameha Highway West. I've attached detour maps for resident reference, they are the same as we have previously sent.

At Radford Drive, the left turn from Radford Drive onto Kamehameha Highway East and through traffic from Radford Drive into the Makalapa Gate may be closed. Drivers will be detoured west to Arizona Street for a U-turn. Additionally, the left turn from Makalapa Gate onto Kamehameha Highway West, and through traffic to Radford Drive, may be closed during these work hours as well. Motorists will be detoured to Valkenburgh Street, then Bougainville, then back to Radford.

The left lane closure exiting Arizona Memorial Place has been implemented as scheduled this week, and will continue over the next several months. The left turn restriction for large trucks exiting the Makalapa Gate has been delayed until May."

HILO, Hawaii (April 7, 2018) - Rear Adm. Brian Fort, Commander Navy Region Hawaii, his wife and the Pacific Fleet Band participate in the Merrie Monarch Festival Parade. The Navy recognizes that the Merrie Monarch Festival honors the legacy left by King David Kalākaua, who inspired the perpetuation of Hawaiian traditions, native language and arts. King Kalākaua negotiated a treaty with the United States that led to the Navy’s presence at Pearl Harbor.
