In regard to Sexual Assualt Awareness and Prevention Month, the following is a message from Ship's Serviceman 2nd Class Jonathan Goulsby:
"When I reveived my initial trainings and went through the course to become a ceritified victim advocate, the realization of how much of an impact I have didn't really hit me until I got that call from the VA hotline at 0300 from someone in need of assistance. I feel honored to assist anyone brave enough to come forward and receive VA services.
The definition of an advocate is a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy. We're here to be the support and voice that the sexual assault survivor may need in what could be the most horrific event of their life."
