Our 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment - Chosin put their skills to the test as they completed the Chosin Challenge. During this event, teams conducted a foot march to the Medical Simulation Training Center, tackled a rigorous obstacle course with simulated casualties on litters, and then marched back to Battalion HQ. 1-32IN continues to show to world that 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division #MountainWarriors lead the way!

Today, Sgt. 1st Class Lee Henson was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his actions in saving the life of a 1-32IN Soldier involved in a motorcycle accident. Henson immediately rushed to the fallen Soldier's side and rendered life-saving aid until medical personnel arrived on the scene. Henson's actions epitomized the Ranger and Soldier's Creeds statement, "I will never leave a fallen comrade," said Col. Shane Morgan, Commander, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division during the ceremony. #ClimbToGlory

In support of strengthening readiness through training, medics from our 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 1BCT, 10th MTN DIV helped staff a two-week joint medical exercise that was held at the #FortDrum Medical Simulation Training Center. The 10th Mountain Division (LI) partnered with Naval Medical Center Portsmouth to ensure medical readiness of #USArmy and U.S. Navy personnel. This training allowed America's Navy Reserve corpsmen to train with active duty U.S. Army medics.
The goal of the exercise was to provide realistic training to medical personnel to help prepare them for possible deployments that embeds the corpsmen around the world.

Today our 3-6 FA 1BCT 10th Mountain Division leaders, LTC Goettke (3-6FAR Commander) and CSM Blackwell, fired up the crowd at the 6 Hours of the Watkins Glen race! LTC Goettke was the Grand Marshall of the race and CSM Blackwell was the Official Starter. This was a great opportunity to connect with our community and support recruiting efforts. Our 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment - Chosin Soldiers, Spc. Estes, Spc. Chaney and Pfc. Meyers, received the AFRICOM Commanders Coin for excellence from Gen. Waldhauser, AFRICOM commanding general during a ceremony held in their honor, June 28, 2018 in Cameroon. Today, the 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 1BCT, 10th MTN DIV Change of Responsibility Ceremony was held at Monti Physical Fitness Center. 10th BSB says farewell to Command Sgt. Maj. Billy Norman, while 1st Sgt. Gregory Stepankiw will fill the BN CSM position in the interim. We salute the exemplary leadership of CSM Norman and 1SG Stepankiw, and recognize all of their outstanding accomplishments. They are true #MountainWarriors!

Please be aware of these changes to the emergency calling system: Effective immediately, cell phone providers are discontinuing the ability to reach Fort Drum 911 Center Dispatchers by dialing *PMO (*766) from a cell phone. Individuals in need of immediate emergency assistance are encouraged to call 911. If you dial 911 from a land line on Fort Drum the call will be received by a Fort Drum 911 Center Dispatcher; however, if you dial 911 from a cell phone on Fort Drum, the call will be routed to the Jefferson County 911 Center. You must inform them that the emergency is on Post and they will transfer you to the Fort Drum 911 Center. The phone numbers for non-emergency calls for service have not changed and are 772-5156, 772-5157, or 772-2677.
With the support of 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team - Mountain has concluded its xCTC rotation with its fellow Guard units! National Guard units from around the country participated in this training event hosted by the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum.

To increase the skills, abilities and lethality of new Infantry Soldiers before going to their first unit, the #USArmy will extend initial training at US Army Fort Benning from 14 to 22 weeks. This will ensure high caliber Soldiers continue to make their way to 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.
#MountainWarriors! The entire Magrath Sports Complex will be closed from June 25 to July 15 while the basketball courts are resurfaced. Please visit Monti Physical Fitness Center and Atkins Functional Fitness Facility! Monti will have extended hours Saturdays when open until 10 pm and Sundays open until 9 pm during our closure. Monti pool hours will remain the same.

Today, Col. Scott Naumann (10th MTN DIV Chief of Staff and former 1BCT CDR), and his wife Sherri were inducted into the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division's Distinguished Order of the Mountain Warrior during a ceremony held in their honor at 1BCT's headquarters. We are excited and proud of Col. Naumann and the entire Naumann family as they depart Fort Drum for Fort Bliss where he'll assume duties as the 1st Armored Division's Deputy Commander. #MountainWarriors
