Congratulations to newly promoted Brig. Gen. Rodney Painting and his appointment to assistant adjutant general of the Louisiana National Guard. “It’s been an incredible and humbling experience. I started off as an E-1 [private] in supply with the 205th Engineer Battalion,” said Brig. Gen. Painting. “We used to say that the gold bar [second lieutenant rank] is the first step to the silver star and laugh about it, but it’s pretty humbling to know that something like that is actually possible.” #geauxguard #protectwhatmatters
“When I think about John there are a lot of things that come to my mind, but in service to our nation probably the quality that comes out more than any other to me is loyalty,” said Maj. Gen. Glenn H. Curtis, the adjutant general of the LANG. “Through his career and through all those tough times he’s finally deserved the right to wear the rank of Brigadier General.” #protectwhatmatters #geauxguard
