It's that time of year .... Navy Regatta time!
We are looking for volunteers/groups/commands to enter the Titanic Cup Race that will be held Saturday, Aug. 4. It's great fun (to watch and compete)!!!
Bravo Zulu -- CS3 Leonora McKenzie receives a Navy Achievement Medal for her services as Pass & Tag assistant leading petty officer, NASCC Security Department, from June 2014 to July 2018. McKenzie assisted with the transition of 3,500 contractors from RAPIDGATE to Defense Biometrics Identification System. She also conducted more than 8,000 background checks. McKenzie is a native of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and is heading to Portsmouth, Virginia, for her next duty station. Fair winds & following seas!
Staying Navy -- Congratulations to AC2 Salvador Orellana who reenlisted for 2 more years of U.S. Navy service. LCDR John Woods, air traffic control facilities officer, served as the reenlisting officer. Orellana, a native of Hardin, Texas, has 14 years of service. Leadership and shipmates braved the mosquitos on the soccer field to be present at the ceremony this morning.
Staying Navy -- MA3 Craig Graves reenlists for 2 more years of U.S. Navy service. The Houston, Texas, native has 8 years of service and orders to Bahrain. Lt. Don Copping, security officer, is the reenlisting officer.
Spring Branch High School NJROTC students completed their stay in Corpus Christi with a tour of NAS Corpus Christi. The students received a tour of air traffic control radar and tower, T-6 and T-44 aircraft, and received a demo from the Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi corpsmen.

Congratulations to our Sailors who were advanced this morning as part of the Meritorious Advancement Program. AC2 Damian Dunn, AC2 Phoebe Sharp, MA1 Louis Lozada, and MA3 Xavier LaCoutre were all advanced to their current rank. LaCoutre was not present at this morning's ceremony -- he is serving an IA assignment. BZ to all!
Preps are underway for this evening’s festivities at Sunfish Beach! Our Independence Day Celebration begins at 4 pm. with activities for kids of all ages! Food trucks will sell their signature items. Fireworks are planned to begin at 8:45 pm. Hope to see you here!
