Over 18,000 sailors are going before the FY-19 Chief's selection board which convened June 25. Only 4,704 (or about a quarter) will be selected for advancement. Quotas can be found at All Hands Magazine

Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Steven Giordano announced his retirement amidst a Navy inspector general investigation into alleged workplace misconduct. Chief of Naval Operations John Richardson acknowledged Giordano’s resignation. No time line has been set for a replacement. Via Navy Times

GATE CLOSURE -- Naval Support Activity Panama City will conduct an installation exercise Today, Wednesday, June 20, at 1:00 p.m. The exercise will include closing the gates and activating the barriers for up to a thirty-minute period. In addition, the mass warning system (Giant Voice) will be used with all messages being preceded and proceeded with "Exercise, Exercise." This exercise will impact employees and visitors access to the base (i.e. deliveries, appointments) and alternative plans should be made during this period.

You'll find free attractions, to include Jet boat rides, inflatable rides, face painting, crafts, music, and so much more. Also, there will be a variety of delicious foods and beverages for purchase. The MWR Main Deck Pub & Grill will be open during the event as well. The event is open to eligible ID Card-carrying personnel to include on-base DoD Contractors.
